oh no! gotta back up again, but only a little.  The buses have bike racks on them that rate a good so-so.  definitely not for bikes with 700cm wheels.  they can't fit down into the rack all the way.  and the stabilizer bar they use doesn't like front bike racks, which we have for our front paniers.  Anyway it worked, that is until our last night in town.  as we were coming back, my bike started to fall off.  I decided that it was only 6 miles back to camp and I only had two glasses of wine with dinner, so I was going to ride it.  the bus driver ( and I might add all the drivers have had a New England accent.. who woulda thought, must be training) asked if I had anything to lash the bike down with.  I said no, so next thing I knew he was taking off his belt.....it worked and we made it back WITH  the bicycles.

saying bye to our campsite view

Loaded up and ready to go!!!!!
Beautiful country roads with lots of shoulder space
Pretty much sums me up
Glacial erratics any one (the indiscriminately placed rock) ?

More country lanes.  It reached 95 degrees today.  Lots of water and other things.  Barb cramped up a bit, but no major tears.  She was happy as always just laughing about it.  one steep hill, her hammy cramped so I walked down and pushed the bike up for her. We got her some electrolyte pills after that.  The next hill she said she was starting to cramp, so she unclipped her foot and shook it around.  "While going up hill?" I asked,,,,,"yep" she said.

When we left Bar Harbor this morning
it was fairly flat for a while.  The Bob (trailer) and bike in general felt heavy and I was wondering how I was going to make it up any real hills.  But, I managed up the hills when they came.  not as big as last year, but steep and short.  Soooo......let the training  begin!!!!!!!!!

my son David told me last year, that's what the first week is about - training.  after all that, its just fun!

Small apple, apple tree.  didn't try any, but took the picture for some one I know that would have  ;>)

Spending the night in Bucksport Maine.  didn't get in sync with the camp ground locations, so its hotel tonight.  Great Chinese dinner!  lots of veggies.  $10 bottle of wine with dinner :>)

Dunkin Doughnuts within crawling distance, just like an Olympic training table.

Heading off to Camden tomorrow and looking up my  cousin Jim!!!!!!
Good night to all
